As an artist, I always find an excuse to come to Rue de Metz. No matter where I’m going in town, this street is a beacon, asking me to visit my locational true love: Rougier et Plé. And having bought so many papers and watercolors from them over the years, it only made sense I’d eventually paint the store that is a quasi-obsession (on the left-hand side of the street).
This 15 cm x 20 cm watercolor of Toulouse is made with a deep love for our city carried in my heart, and it informs each brushstroke.
