Welcome to Chez Lapinous,
where we’re resurrecting the creative salon, one rad event at a time.
At Chez Lapinous, we’re living the art dream.
Today, we’re more likely to share our work on Discord than in someone’s living room, but I always wanted to be a turn-of-the-century artist piled in Gertrude Stein’s or James Baldwin’s home to talk art and build real creative bonds. One day, I told myself, when I have a cool place with a glitzy chandelier and one of those cocktail bars shaped like a globe, maybe my house would be ready for “real” artists to rub elbows in.
But one not-so-special day in 2025, I looked around my living room, with its homemade curtains and the floor that creaks and my oil paintings crowding every wall and realized, “Wait wait wait - this is the salon. The salon is now!”
Chez Lapinous was born. Our inaguaral event showcased three authors reading spooky stories to thirty guests for the Halloween season. And from there, this creative baby has started running, featuring a revolving cast of writers reading their work and selling their books, surrounded by local Toulousaine art for sale.
Because community is the only thing I know how to do in the face of a fractured, digital world.

Get Involved
We host artists! Writers! And you!
Join the mailing list
I send one email per month (or less) letting you know when the next events are, putting out open calls for new artists and writers to feature, and sharing my artsy fartsy life with you.
Showcase your work
If you’ve published a book, made a rad zine, have a mime routine, watercolor zoo animals, or want to flex your drag king muscles for an intimate show, we want you here. Sign up to join the performers and we’ll be in touch! We’re open to everything but fire juggling, and only because this little apartment’s ceilings are too low.
Lend a hand
Got a fresh idea? Want to help set up? Converting my living room into a functioning event space is more than just pretty fabrics (although a lot of it is pretty fabrics). Help this chronically ill baddie (me) move furniture/bake a cake/keep the ship sailing.
Join our writers’ collective!
Chez Lapinous is a lot more than just a literary salon; we’re also a coordinated group of authors with a vision: establishing ourselves in the local community, getting our books into indie shops around Toulouse and worldwide, and putting the power out of the Big 5 Publishers’ hands and back ito ours. Because in the face of AI dismantling our industries as artists piecemeal, it’s on us to redefine what it means to be an author in the 21st century.
Contact me for our collective’s catalog of novels and poetry chapbooks, or if you’re curious about how to join the list.
