I love people. I know that’s something that everyone says, but as an artist, I mean it bone deep. There’s nothing more satisfying than capturing that certain skin tone that convinces a viewer of the blood pumping just beneath, or a curve in a jaw that reveals someone’s age. Oil painting, to me, is the perfect medium to capture people - and the sky. If you think about it, it makes sense: humans and skies are wildly expressive, overwhelming at times in their force, and at others, gentle like dawn or a kiss on the temple.
